A Spring Mobile Alabama Wedding
I always tell my couples that the engagement session is warm up for wedding day and it really is the truth. On wedding days there are so many photos to take. When it comes time for those all important bride and groom photos, knowing what to expect helps us work faster! I was absolutely dying to shoot in the gorgeous garden behind The Locale, but it was in full sun until after Katlin and Lee’s ceremony.
No bride wants squinty eyes in all her wedding portraits, so we held off using this spot until an hour before sunset. It was SO worth the wait because the light was perfect at that time of day! Katlin and Lee were total pros at posing thanks to their engagement session experience, so we were able to get a lot accomplished in a short period of time! These portraits turned out to be some of my favorites from the whole day. I felt like we had entered a secret garden. It was amazing!
Katlin and Lee are both very close to their families. I love how Katlin and Lee’s moms have a sisterly type of relationship. It was such a joy to get to know them throughout my time working with Katlin and Lee. I love that they both helped out at the engagement session by bringing Katlin and Lee’s puppy to the session. They helped out again at Katlin’s bridal session, making sure her dress stayed in perfect condition and helping me hold the veil for some floating veil portraits. On wedding day, they made sure all the last minute details came together.
When we were about to head out for Katlin and Lee’s First Look, Katlin mentioned her hands were shaking. She was so excited to see her groom! The tears began to flow as soon as she saw Lee and he gently brushed them from her cheeks with his hands. More tears flowed when Katlin’s daddy saw her for the first time. We were definitely in need of handkerchiefs!
I love spring wedding season and this one kicks off quite a marathon for me! I’m so excited for all seven weddings that are coming up this month and next. It might be jam-packed busy, but my brides and grooms make it worth the crazy schedule!
Belle Bouquet did an amazing job on all the florals for this wedding! I just loved the soft color palette!
I loved this photo that my second photographer, Jacob, took!
It’s so fun to see how using a different lens and moving a few feet away creates a different image! The photo below is one I captured from a different perspective shortly after the one Jacob took above! Katlin and Lee were standing in the same spot for both photos.
Making veil toss dreams come true, one bride at a time! Jacob, you outdid yourself with this toss!
I’m still dying over this cake and these florals!
Lee had one of the most amazing groom’s cakes I’ve ever seen! Just look at the detail on the puppy sculpture!
Lee’s dad drove them away in the coolest car!
Congratulations Katlin and Lee! Thank you for having me be part of your special day!
