An Izenstone Wedding
Frankie was so excited that his parents were getting married! They were equally excited to have their fur-baby be part of their special day! It’s always a bit tricky to incorporate pets into a wedding day because you never know what their reaction will be. Fortunately, I got to meet Frankie at Ginny and Michael’s engagement session and I knew he would do just fine.
Ginny and Michael are such a sweet couple. I remember the first time I met Ginny and hearing her talk about Michael. I love that she didn’t let the distance of living in different states deter her from following her heart. I also love that Michael’s main concern was all about Ginny enjoying their wedding day. Whatever made Ginny happy would make him happy. How sweet is that?!
After months of knowing these two and hearing them talk about their families, it was so wonderful to meet everyone on wedding day! Many of their friends and family traveled down to the Alabama Gulf Coast from different states to celebrate with them. Thankfully, we had the most picturesque day for the wedding. Yes, it was still a bit hot, but no where near as humid as July and August were! I’m sure all their guests from out of town thought I was crazy talking about how it wasn’t that hot, but it was seriously a HUGE difference from the summer months.
This wedding marked my first time to shoot at Izenstone in Spanish Fort. This property is so beautiful and the barn is the perfect mix of rustic and polished. I love that the interior is all light toned! It photographs beautifully and is large enough to host a large reception. Michael’s extended family alone could fill up the huge dance-floor space!
A St. Francis at the Point Ceremony
I was also excited to return to St. Francis at the Point for the wedding ceremony! The first wedding I ever second shot was at this church and I’ve loved it ever since that day. When Ginny first told me she’d selected it for the ceremony, I could barely contain my excitement. Because of all the large windows, this church has an abundance of natural light. My photographer friends and I talk all the time about how it’s a photographer’s dream ceremony location!
I love that after the ceremony, the bridal party gathered outside the church to cheer for Ginny and Michael as they made their way down the front steps. It was such a joyful moment! I also love that since we had a 3 o’clock ceremony that we still had time for Golden Hour portraits once we returned to Izenstone. Definitely scroll down to see those because they were some of my favorites of the whole day!
Frankie was definitely ready for picture time!
I have a feeling this one is going to go in a frame!
Moments like this are what memories are made of! I don’t even know if Ginny and Michael were aware of the cuteness happening behind them in this moment.
I absolutely LOVE this shot that my second photographer, Alexis, took during the exit from the church! I asked her to shoot from behind hoping that she’d get an opportunity for a shot like this and she absolutely nailed it!
Ginny and her brothers planned a special dance and, oh my word, it was AMAZING! They brought the house down with laughter and cheers!
Then, Michael’s dance with his sweet mom had everyone in tears again!
I walked outside to check the light for Golden Hour portraits and it was absolutely PERFECT!
It was such a treat to run into one of my 2017 couples, Rachel and Alex, at the reception! These two recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary and are expecting TWINS next year!
I glanced across the dance floor and the sweetest moment was happening between Ginny and her grandmother. Cue the tears once again!
