A Downtown Fairhope Autumn Engagement
I could tell Sudduth is a thoughtful guy within a few minutes of meeting him. He is a classic Southern gentleman and I could see how much he cares for KayLyn right away. KayLyn is such a cheerful lady. The first thing I remember about her when we met is her smile. It’s the kind that makes you feel as if you’ve known her forever. Together, they are the sweetest couple!
Sudduth completely surprised KayLyn with his proposal. The fact that she’d been suspicious it might happen sooner made the surprise all the better! KayLyn said that she’d been slightly surprised when Sudduth didn’t get down on one knee during a photoshoot they had in front of the Saenger Theatre. This was where they first met and a photographer was present, so she started thinking something special might be planned.
When Sudduth didn’t propose that night, KayLyn put thoughts of a ring in the back of her mind. A week later they found themselves perusing an exhibit during Art Walk. They made their way through the rooms, looking at paintings along the way. Finally they made it to the main room, where a canvas was waiting behind a covering. Sudduth walked up to the canvas and removed the cloth, which revealed one of the photos they had taken the week before. The words, “Will you marry me?” were printed across the top and at that moment Sudduth was down on one knee asking KayLyn to be his wife! Best of all, their families and friends had been hiding elsewhere in the museum and were there to celebrate with them as soon as KayLyn said yes!
KayLyn and Sudduth are getting married next month! I always say it’s never too late to do an engagement session and that really is the truth! I so enjoy this time I get to spend with my brides and grooms ahead of wedding day. Enjoy this preview of some of my favorites!
KayLyn and Sudduth wanted to finish up their session with some photos down near the water. A front was moving through our area the day of their session, so the wind was FIERCE! KayLyn and Sudduth could barely hear me giving them direction because the wind was that loud. My voice is not one that carries very far, so my words were immediately swallowed in the howling wind. I love the movement of the wind in the photos though. It definitely made for a few dramatic portraits!
