How long does it take to receive my portraits after the session?

You will receive access to your portraits via an online gallery within three to four weeks of your portrait session.

What if I have trouble downloading my photos from the online gallery?

USB drives are available for purchase separately should you have trouble downloading your photos.

How long will I have access to the online gallery?

Online galleries are available for a minimum of 30 days. It is the client's responsibility to download and back up their portraits prior to the gallery's expiration date. Any print orders should also be placed during this 30-day period. There is a $50 service fee to republish a gallery after it expires.

Do you offer Mini Sessions?

At this time, due to demand, mini sessions are available to current and past clients. If mini sessions are opened up to the public, they will be announced to my email list first. You can subscribe to the email list below.

Are digital images included in the session rate? Can I print my photos at a lab of my choice?

Yes, all sessions include digital images and a print release. You can make as many prints of the photos as desired for personal use. You may also share your photos on social media. Digital images are delivered via download from your online gallery.

For the best quality and experience, it is encouraged to order professional quality prints (especially enlargements) through your online gallery. However, should you wish to print photos on your own, lab recommendations will be included when your gallery is delivered. We cannot account for print results at other labs.

What if my session is rained out?

Shooting outdoors means that sometimes Mother Nature interrupts our plans. Should your session need to be rescheduled due to inclement weather, I will work with you to find an alternative date as close to your original session date as possible. Additional information on rescheduling is available in the session agreement.

Can I bring more than one outfit?

Keepsake sessions allow for one outfit for families and couples, or two outfits for high school seniors.

For Lifestyle Sessions, there will be time for two to three outfits, depending on how many people are participating in the session. The more people that are being photographed, the longer it takes to change clothes, which means less time for shooting during your session. Please keep this in mind when planning your outfits. :)

Do you have locations you can recommend?

Yes! If you do not have a preference for where to do your portrait session, I am happy to provide suggestions. I also recommend checking out past sessions on my blog for location inspiration. Keep in mind that some locations look differently depending on the time of year, so if you love the look of a location because of the azaleas that were blooming in the spring, that same location will look completely different if we are doing your session in the fall.

You will receive a pre-session questionnaire after booking, which will help me to make a location recommendation.

Portrait FAQ

How long do Portrait Sessions last?

I offer two different packages for classic portrait sessions, Keepsake & Lifestyle.

Keepsake Sessions are a one-hour, on-location portrait session and include 25 to 35 high resolution digital images. This session is a great option for a single family, high school seniors, children and couples. Please note, only one family per session for Keepsake Sessions is permitted. For extended family sessions, please refer to the information on the Lifestyle Session.

Lifestyle Sessions are two-hour, on-location portrait sessions and include 50 to 75 high resolution digital images. Lifestyle sessions are perfect clients that are interested in an in-home session for their family that is more documentary in nature, or for clients that want more than one hour of time for shooting so that they can have multiple outfits and possibly more than one location that is part of their session. You receive more images from a Lifestyle session because we are shooting twice the amount of time of the Keepsake Session. This session option is also ideal for extended family sessions.

Do you offer headshot sessions?

On-location headshot sessions are available on weekdays. I do not have a photography studio, but offer options for taking headshots out doors on location, or in an office for companies/organizations that require someone to come to their location and provide a studio setup on site. Please inquire for additional details. On-location headshot sessions for an individual begin at $225.

What do I wear for my session?

This is the number one question I'm asked by my clients and don't worry, I will give you a lot of inspiration and tips for what to wear to your portrait session once you've made your reservation. My portrait session style guide provides an answer to almost any wardrobe-related question you can think of!

Do you have a studio?

I do not have a studio. All my portrait sessions are held on location at either a public place, or at private property that my clients have access to. Should a location require a fee for doing a portrait session on property, that fee will be the responsibility of the client.

Do you offer newborn sessions?

I do not consider myself a newborn photographer, however, many of my sweet clients have come back to me asking for newborn sessions as their families grow. Lifestyle Newborn Sessions are available on a very limited basis. I do not offer posed newborn sessions. Newborn photography is a highly specialized type of portraiture and I have some friends that are crazy talented at taking beautiful newborn portraits. If you are interested in posed newborn portraits, I'm happy to refer you to one of my sweet friends! If you would like more information on a Lifestyle Session with me, please fill out the portrait contact form for more information on availability.
