I’ve been meaning to blog about this session for a while because it was so much fun! Last month I headed over to Bake My Day for a documentary food shoot. Although I’ve been photographing Bake My Day’s food for quite a while now, I’d not yet photographed the food being made, nor any details of the seriously adorable, recently expanded shop. We had to reschedule this session a few times, so when the day finally came I was so super excited. I had so many ideas and I knew it was going to be a fun shoot.
Well, I showed up at the bakery in the early evening and the weather was pretty decent when I arrived (hot, but it’s summer). I was starting to set up my equipment when all of a sudden a major storm popped up (when the lights flickered, I was like, seriously???!!!). I thought we were going to have to scrap the session and reschedule again (which would have been a lot easier said than done, especially considering how busy the bakery schedule is). Plus, Paula, Pam and I had put in a lot of prep work for this shoot, so I was just crossing my fingers the weather didn’t totally ruin our plans. As it turned out, we were able to get the entire shoot done, except for the exterior shots, which I photographed on a much prettier day. 🙂
I had so many favorites from this shoot that it was hard to select which ones to blog, so this is a extra big session preview. Let me tell you, it was SO hard to watch Paula icing this chocolate cake and not get to eat any of it! The smell was heavenly! I did get to sample plenty of other treats though and, as usual, everything was delicious. Enjoy!
