An Orange Beach Alabama Wedding
Jessica and Tyler came all the way from Texas to have their wedding in Orange Beach Alabama. It was my first time in a while to photograph a wedding where I hadn’t met the bride and groom prior to the wedding day, but Jessica and I had talked on the phone enough beforehand for me to feel like I knew her. I was so excited to finally meet this family and I knew the day would be fun and carefree. The first time we talked, Jessica told me she wanted a simple beach wedding that focused on her, Tyler and their daughter, Lyla. They chose Orange Beach because her parents have a condo nearby and they love vacationing there as a family.
The Monday before the wedding, I noticed the forecast for Saturday wasn’t looking too good. Beach weddings and rain do not mix. The rain plan was discussed and we all said extra prayers that Jessica and Tyler would get their beach wedding. Thankfully, the day arrived and it was picture-perfect beautiful! I loved that both Jessica and Lyla wore custom gowns made by one of Jessica’s friends and carried bouquets full of bright flowers. One of my favorite moments of the day was Lyla coming down the aisle ahead of Jessica. Tyler knelt down and called to her as she toddled through the sand. It was such an adorable moment and the smiles on Jessica’s and Tyler’s faces perfectly showed their joy!
After the ceremony we took portraits on the beach before heading to dinner at Big Fish Restaurant. I am so happy that we were able to get Jessica and Tyler some bride and groom portraits on the beach! We were a bit ahead of golden hour, but a cloud came along at just the right time and softened the light beautifully! These two were such a dream to photograph! We were having so much fun that our portrait time was over in the blink of an eye!
Jessica and Tyler, thank you so much for such a fun day! I had such a wonderful time capturing these special moments for you and your family!
Tyler surprised Jessica with her wedding band. She noticed it as we were in the middle of portrait time. I’m so glad I caught her reaction once she noticed the band was different than the one she was expecting!
I love working with my friend Cheree of Lifehouse Films. She always does the most amazing ring shots in her films! I was watching her shoot this and asked if I could take a still shot using her setup. It’s definitely one of my new favorite ring shots. Now I’m going to have to look into trying out an LED light!
