A Fairhope Inn Editorial Feature
This past month and a half has felt a bit like a rollercoaster ride that got stuck mid loop. There is no exit path. You just have to wait it out. It’s more uncomfortable for some than for others. When it seems things will finally get going again, we hold our breaths, not knowing what is to come. We wonder if we will find ourselves unexpectedly in pause mode once again. This was not how any of us envisioned spring 2020.
I had this post planned for last week, but it honestly felt hard to write about the fun of this day during the weeks where so much was unknown and so many of my brides were having to postpone their weddings to later in the year. As we start to slowly ease back into some normalcy around here, it seems the perfect time to share the images from this editorial feature I photographed for Mobile Bay Magazine. Like my brides and fellow wedding vendors, I am looking forward to getting back to celebrating wedding days! I have missed them so much!
The day of this shoot we weren’t even thinking about the prospect of the coronavirus derailing the spring wedding season. In fact, this issue of the magazine was already off at the printer before we were under any stay at home, or safer at home orders. Looking back on this day, it truly was one of those days where everything lined up perfectly and went so smoothly. From the beautiful floral arrangements by Wildflowers, to the perfectly selected rentals from Soho, and the amazing bridal gown provided by Bliss bridal, I was in photographer heaven! We also had a stunning invitation suite from Soiree Signatures, which I loved getting to style and photograph while everything else was being set up.
On top of all that, we were also lucky to work with a delightful team of models. Tiara, Forrest and Carlie made this day so much fun! They had such a chill vibe, which is so important when it comes to shoots that last nearly a whole day. Finally, the courtyard at the Fairhope Inn was the perfect setting for this gorgeous shoot. I’ve always loved this little restaurant in downtown Fairhope, but it’s such a sweet spot for a wedding also!
I take many images on shoots like this, but only a handful make it into the published spreads. Of course I have a ton of favorites that don’t get selected! Keep scrolling for all the amazing details provided by a dream team of wedding vendors!
