A Grand Hotel Point Clear Engagement

Sherish and Taylor were in town to celebrate her parents 50th wedding anniversary! That is such a special milestone. I love that it worked out that these two were doing their engagement session the same weekend!

Since Sherish and Taylor live in Dallas, I hadn’t met them prior to this photoshoot. We chose the Grand Hotel in Point Clear for their session because it’s where these two will exchange vows later this year in an intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends.

I always love taking portraits on this beautiful property, but this time I found a spot I’d never used before and it was beyond dreamy! Fun fact, it was also basically in the parking lot. As soon as I saw the light coming through the moss-covered trees, I knew it was going to be a gorgeous portrait spot. I couldn’t wait to get Sherish and Taylor in front of my lens with this beautiful background. Just as we started taking photos, Sherish told me that she loves Spanish moss. I was like, how perfect is this?!

Sherish and Taylor are both so easy-going. I loved meandering around the Grand Hotel property with them. Even though they are getting married here, I know that there’s no way we can use all these locations on wedding day, so it’s fun to get to do some portraits in some areas we likely won’t have time to get to on wedding day.

One spot we will definitely aim to return to on their wedding day is the beach area. All my Grand Hotel brides love the rocks in this location and I have to say it’s one of my favorite spots as well. The photos we took there during this session are some of my absolute favorites from the shoot!
