A Spring Hill College Wedding
I always enjoy photographing weddings at my alma mater, Spring Hill College. Last weekend was a particularly gorgeous day on campus. Around here, low humidity days with zero chance of rain are few and far between. On the day of Katie and Casey’s wedding, the sky was picture-perfect blue and there was a gentle breeze in the air. Talk about dream weather for your wedding photos!
Katie and Casey are from New Orleans, so all their family and friends traveled from out of town for the wedding weekend. They chose St. Joseph’s Chapel as a nod to Katie’s parents’ and grandparents’ love stories. Her parents graduated from Spring Hill and her grandparents were also married in St. Joseph’s Chapel. This chapel is part of so many family legacies and I’m reminded of that each and every time I photograph a wedding there.
Since Katie and Casey chose not to do a First Look and their ceremony was after sunset, we did all of their portraits at the Battle House Hotel. The Crystal Ballroom at the Battle House is one of my favorite reception spaces. There is just something about that grand staircase and those chandeliers that gets me every time! There is also plenty of space for guests to dance the night away, which is exactly what everyone did! Congratulations Katie & Casey!
