A St. Joseph Chapel Wedding
I love sentimental details and this wedding day was full of them! Lauren chose to wear her mother’s wedding gown, which was purchased in 1984, the year her parents were married. An antique locket belonging to her great-grandmother adorned her garter, her grandmother’s rosary was wrapped in her bouquet, and the engagement ring that adorned her finger was the same ring that Jimmy’s grandmother wore for all 51 years that she was married to Jimmy’s grandfather. After Jimmy’s grandfather passed away, his grandmother continued to wear the ring in honor of her marriage. Talk about a beautiful legacy of love!
Jimmy is a fellow Spring Hill College alum and St. Joseph Chapel was the perfect choice for his and Lauren’s evening ceremony. The ceremony started right at Golden Hour, which meant the chapel was bathed in light streaming through the windows for the start of the ceremony. Lauren was such a joyful bride and one of my favorite photos of the day has to be of her and her dad walking down the aisle. Even though she and Jimmy had shared a First Look, I could tell that Lauren still took his breath away when those doors opened for the bride’s procession at the ceremony.
Lauren’s family is very musically talented! Two of her siblings sang during the Nuptial Mass and, later on at the reception, her dad and three of her siblings took to the microphones to play and sing. Both of these moments were so memorable and such a special gift for Jimmy and Lauren!
A Golf Cart Saves the Day
I always love photographing weddings at Spring Hill College, but it is quite a challenge to fit stopping at multiple portrait spots on campus into a wedding day timeline. Thankfully, Jimmy and Lauren’s friend was able to chauffeur us around in a golf cart so that we could hit up several portrait spots on campus.
While I rode around with Lauren and Jimmy in the golf cart, my friend and second photographer for the day, Debby, zipped around campus in the car with my assistant, Lauren. It truly was a team effort to capture Jimmy and Lauren’s dream day!
Lauren and Jimmy, thank you for having me be part of your special day! I wish you many years of happiness together and I hope these photos will always remind you of the joy of this day!
