A Spring Hill College Wedding
When I first started photographing weddings, St. Joseph Chapel was high on my list of churches I wanted on my wedding calendar. As a graduate of Spring Hill College, this place is extra special to me. This is the place where I learned photography in the first place!
I remember several consultations in those early years with brides-to-be who were getting married at Spring Hill that did not lead to bookings. I was just dying to photograph a wedding at Spring Hill, but couldn’t seem to book one! It was crazy!
The first wedding I ever photographed at St. Joseph Chapel was actually a wedding I second shot with my friend and fellow photographer Aimee Reynolds. I remember being SO excited that I was FINALLY getting to photograph a wedding on campus! It was one of those pinch me moments.
Since that day, I’ve photographed many weddings at Spring Hill and, this year, both of my November weddings were St. Joseph Chapel weddings! It’s such a treat to photograph weddings on campus in the fall – it’s my favorite season!
A Magical November Wedding
Haley and Aaron are one of the sweetest and most laid-back couples I’ve ever worked with. I loved that Haley got ready at Stewartfield, where the reception was also held. The wallpaper in one of the rooms perfectly matched her wedding colors. It made it such a great spot for getting ready photos and some bridal portraits!
When Aaron arrived for the First Look, I could tell he was anxious to see his bride. One of my favorite moments of the day was definitely when he got his first glimpse of Haley in her gown. His smile said it all!
Since so many students had already headed home for Thanksgiving break, we practically had the campus to ourselves for portraits. I still can’t believe I got lucky with low crowds on the Avenue of the Oaks twice in the same month! On top of that, the light was BEYOND magical on this day! I loved that Haley and Aaron’s first dance lined up perfectly with Golden Hour. It made for gorgeous photos during that part of the reception! Cheers to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Poiroux!
