A Grand Hotel Engagement
Each year, as wedding season comes to an end, engagement season picks up! My inbox has been overflowing with messages from brides-to-be who are at the beginning stages of wedding planning for fall 2022 and 2023 dates! This is also the time of year that I’m photographing engagement sessions for several brides who booked with me in late spring or summer of the current year.
I was so excited to meet Katie and Jacob in person while they were in town last week. Since they live in Atlanta, our initial meeting was via a consultation call. I could immediately tell from that consultation call that Katie and I would have fun working together and I was right! On top of that, Jacob is equally kind and easy going. We strolled around the Grand Hotel property in Point Clear on a beautiful December afternoon that felt a lot like a spring day. We all agreed that it would be amazing if we could get that same type of weather on their wedding day this coming February. It was perfect!
I absolutely love winter sunsets on Mobile Bay! The days aren’t as hot and often the humidity isn’t as high, which makes shooting on the water so much more enjoyable. Also, there are less people out and about on winter afternoons, which means portrait locations are less crowded. On this day, we had the beach to ourselves and it was such a dream!
Katie and Jacob both went to Notre Dame, but it wasn’t until after college that they met and started dating. They chose St. Thomas by the Sea in Orange Beach for their winter wedding. I love this church and am looking forward to photographing their wedding there in just a couple of months! Enjoy my favorites from their dreamy engagement session!
