A Grand Hotel Point Clear Engagement
I typically photograph engagement sessions for couples whose wedding I’m also photographing. This is because I believe it’s so important to get to know your photographer ahead of your wedding day. However, when Emily sent me an email saying that she and her fiance, Brian, were planning an intimate wedding celebration in Rome, Italy, but wanted engagement portraits taken close to home, I was so happy that I had some availability in my calendar.
As Emily and Brian described their plans for their wedding day, I was imagining it all before my eyes. Then they showed me photographs of their venue and I just about died. I was like, “can I just join in on this and follow your Italian photographer around for the wedding day with my camera?” Seriously, it’s going to be a DREAM!
It was soooooo hot the day of this session that we ended up shortening our shoot time. Summers here are always hot, but Emily and I agreed it seems hotter than usual for this early in the summer. After the shoot, Emily and Brian invited me to join them for dinner. I loved getting to visit with them a bit more. Emily and Brian are the type of people that feel like old friends five minutes after you meet them. As they shared the story of how they met over dinner, all I was thinking was, this could be a movie! There were so many stars that had to align for them to meet in the first place!
I never wanted a job that had me chained to a desk and the people I get to meet through photography is hands down the best part of my job! Enjoy some of my favorites from Emily and Brian’s engagement session!
