A St. Francis at the Point Wedding
The summer wedding season is taking my breath away with so many beautiful details and the loveliest couples! People often ask me if I’m exhausted after photographing a wedding and the answer is always yes, but it’s usually a good kind of exhausted. It’s the feeling that you’ve given the best of your ability to serve a bride and groom well on their wedding day. There is nothing better than hearing a bride say that her day was everything she dreamed of at the end of a reception.
Caroline and her mom were such a delight to work with over the past few months. Even though they don’t live in the area, we were able to get to know each other via email and phone calls, as well as when they were in town for Caroline and Thomas’s engagement session. I could tell from the first time I spoke with them that Caroline and her mom have close relationship. I just adored watching them soak in all the fun of the wedding day!
A Grand Hotel Point Clear Reception
We had record heat in the forecast the day of this wedding, so I was super thankful that our venues were St. Francis at the Point and The Grand Hotel in Point Clear. Both venues have excellent options for both indoor and outdoor portraits. The trick was sandwiching outdoor portrait time with indoor portrait time to hopefully keep everyone from getting overheated. This worked beautifully since we were at two gorgeous locations!
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while enjoying a Mobile Bay sunset on the Grand Hotel patio. Once Caroline and Thomas arrived, the ballroom doors opened for dinner and dancing. The ballroom looked absolutely stunning! I loved that Caroline, Thomas and Caroline’s parents got a preview of the room before it was opened to guests. After months of planning, the big reveal did not disappoint! Jenna Laine Weddings and the team of vendors definitely brought Caroline’s vision to life!
Picking favorites for this blog post was no easy task because I have so many favorites from this day! Cheers to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan!
Y’all I was obsessed with this beautiful invitation suite!
This was such a sweet Daddy-Daughter First Look! One of my favorite moments of the day!
Thomas wore Buchanan plaid cuff links, a nod to his family heritage. I loved photographing them along with the rehearsal dinner invitation.
Probably my favorite shot of the whole day thanks to my assistant, Lauren, who nailed it with this veil toss! I can never get enough of this mossy oak tree!
Kelly was the assistant behind this veil toss! I’m so thankful for the team that helps me capture portraits like this!
Another favorite moment of the day was Caroline and her mom getting to see the ballroom for the first time! I’d say that the vendors nailed it with this one! Their smiles show just how much they love how everything turned out!
This gorgeous shot taken by my second photographer, Regina, showcases the amazing floral chandelier by Belle Bouquet! It was stunning!
