A Downtown Fairhope Engagement
Kelly and Mark are getting married at St. Joseph Chapel this fall. When searching for a reception venue, they fell in love with The Fairhope Inn. Since we likely won’t make it to this location before sunset on their wedding day, we decided to meet up at the Fairhope Inn for their engagement portraits.
Kelly and Mark are having a true destination wedding. With neither being from the area, almost all their family and friends will travel in from out of town for their wedding weekend. What better place is there to visit for a wedding than Fairhope, right?
It’s not often that couples choose venues on opposite sides of the bay for ceremony and reception, but Kelly explained that in St. Louis, where she and Mark live, that it’s pretty typical to have a gap of time between the ceremony and reception.
I always find it fascinating to learn about wedding traditions in different parts of the country. Since nearly all my weddings take place in the Mobile Bay area, a lot of my weddings follow a similar pattern. It was fun to learn about this tradition and, I have to say, having that time cushion sounds nice to me!
Kelly and Mark flew in for this session. I was praying the weather would cooperate, but you just never know down here! It turned out to be a beautiful spring day that ended with perfect conditions for portraits on Mobile Bay. Enjoy my favorites from Kelly and Mark’s engagement session!
