A Downtown Fairhope Engagement
Most couples who choose Fairhope as a location for their engagement photos do so because they want photos showcasing the bay. Ashley chose Fairhope for a different reason though. For her photos she wanted to seek out some dreamy moss-covered oak trees.
I knew of a section of mossy oaks that I’d always wanted to walk to during a session, but it’s a walk you have to commit to because there isn’t parking nearby. Thankfully, Ashley and Brandon were game for making this location a priority and it couldn’t have turned out more beautifully!
Before we headed for the location with all the oak trees, we met up in downtown for some photos with that classic downtown Fairhope vibe. It was another gorgeous spring day and there were lots of folks passing by during this session. I love that Ashley said she didn’t mind one bit about the audience. She and Brandon were so chill and easy-going that it made it possible for me to get photos in town without it looking as crowded as it actually was!
When we relocated to the Orange Street Pier area, I knew the lighting was going to be amazing at the spot I wanted to walk to from the pier. The sun was at the perfect angle, making all the Spanish moss sparkle in the Golden Hour glow! Y’all it was a DREAM!
On top of that, we hadn’t planned to save time for bayside photos (since Ashley and Brandon’s proposal photos were taken on a pier), but we ended up back at the pier with a gorgeous view of the bay at the most perfect time lighting wise. I told Ashley she had the dream trifecta of engagement photos at this location: classic downtown, dreamy Spanish moss, and peaceful Mobile Bay sunset!
