A St. Joseph Chapel Wedding
There are certain churches that I always hope I get to visit at least once a year for a wedding day. St. Joseph Chapel, located in the heart of the Spring Hill College campus, is one of those churches. As a Spring Hill alum, the chapel is one of my strongest memories from college. I always marveled at the beauty of this church and it is forever one of my favorites for a wedding. It was a treat to get to be at this church to photograph a wedding two weeks in a row!
Julia graduated from Spring Hill College earlier this month and DP proposed to her in front of the chapel, so there was no debate over where their Nuptial Mass would take place. The day of their wedding was picture perfect! The sky was a gorgeous blue and the humidity was low. Everyone was so joyful and excited for Julia and DP to become husband and wife.
We started and ended our day in downtown Mobile. Julia and her bridesmaids got ready at the Battle House Hotel and we ended the night at the Ezell House. I have done many weddings at the Ezell House, but I have to say I’m not sure the weather has ever been so perfect for one of my receptions there! It was Golden Hour perfection and had me wishing our summer temperatures were exactly what we had that night – just the right amount of warm, but not too hot.
Since Julia and DP’s reception ended just before sunset, we planned to take a few bonus portraits in Cathedral Square after their grand exit. It was the perfect way to wrap up a perfect wedding day!
Can we talk about how much I love Catholic weddings that use incense?! I’ve had two couples choose to have incense for their wedding and it really adds something extra special to the Nuptial Mass.
