A St. Mary’s Catholic Church Wedding

Holy Family Church is where I was Baptized, where I received my first Holy Communion and where I received the Sacrament of Confirmation. It’s where my parents were married. And where we went to Christmas Eve Mass with my grandparents for my entire childhood. I attended Holy Family School from Kindergarten through the 8th Grade and Mary Elizabeth was just a few grades younger than me.

On top of knowing her from church and school, I grew up just a few houses down from Mary Elizabeth’s family. Our parents go way back and so did our late grandparents. It is so incredibly special to document a wedding day for a family that I’ve known for so many years. The entire day felt like a family reunion.

The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion is one of my favorite venues in Mobile and it was the perfect compliment to the blue and white color palette Mary Elizabeth chose for her day. It was seriously a DREAM! Since Mary Elizabeth and Bill chose not to see each other before their ceremony, I was thankful for the clear skies that gave us a little bit more daylight than we expected. I wrapped up post-ceremony portraits just as the light was fading away.

At the reception, the dance floor was full nearly the entire night and I had so much fun seeing families I haven’t seen in a long time. I even ran into my Kindergarten teacher at the wedding! Mary Elizabeth and Bill, thank you for kicking off the 2024 wedding season in the absolute best way imaginable. Cheers to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Guilfoyle!

Holy Family Ties Run Deep
