A Grand Hotel Engagement

Each year, once Thanksgiving arrives, I know the time is going to fly by, but it moves extra quick when you have December weddings and multiple shoots over the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I suddenly find myself wondering, where has December gone because it feels like yesterday that I met up with Sarah and Alexander for their engagement session at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.

I’ve known Sarah’s family my entire life. In fact, our grandparents were the best of friends and last January I photographed her cousin’s wedding. I was so excited when Sarah’s mom called to ask if I was available to photograph her wedding, but I also couldn’t believe that it had been so long since I took her high school senior portraits. Again, where does the time go?!

Sarah and Alexander live in Dallas, so they were in town for only a short time. Sarah grew up in Baldwin County, so she knew she wanted to capture the bay in some of her photos. Growing up, she would visit the Grand Hotel often. It holds special memories for her and her family. I love that we were able to incorporate a place she loves so much into these photo. She and Alexander are the sweetest couple and I just had so much fun spending the afternoon with them. Best of all, the property was already decked out for Christmas and we were able to take a few photos that feel very festive for the season.

This is my last engagement session to share for the year, but I still have one more wedding to go before we wrap up 2024!
