A Grand Hotel Engagement Session
Mary Frances and Turner had the most perfect spring weather for their engagement session! Days like this one feel so rare in the Mobile Bay area. Usually the humidity is so much higher than it was on this day. It’s so wonderful to take photos in that time of year that is right in between too hot and too cold. As I said, it was perfect weather and I used up every ounce of light this day had to offer!
I’ve known Mary Frances’ mom for a while now. I was so excited when I heard her daughter was engaged. When I talked to Mary Frances about wedding photography, I immediately knew she would be a bride I’d enjoy working with. The day before their engagement session we ended up running into each other at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. We were all attending the same event. I had no idea that Mary Frances and Turner would be there. We would have missed each other entirely if I hadn’t stopped in the courtyard to answer a text on my way to my car. Talk about providential timing! I loved getting to meet them in person in advance of their session date.
Mary Frances and Turner were introduced to each other by mutual friends. Fun fact, his best friend married her best friend. After a couple of years of putting off being set up on a date, they both gave in and the rest is history! When it was time to ask Mary Frances to be his wife, Turner carefully planned a day in New Orleans. He proposed to her in Audubon Park, a place that they enjoyed visiting when Mary Frances lived in the city, before taking his bride-to-be to celebrate with family and friends at her family’s camp. How sweet is that?!
