A Downtown Mobile Engagement Session
Bekah and Jackson’s engagement session was my first session of the season where I felt like cooler weather is on the way. While it may still feel hot to some, I could tell a BIG difference in the temperature from other recent shoots. I hadn’t met Bekah and Jackson prior to this shoot, but I’d met both their parents previously so I kind of felt like I already knew them.
Bekhah shared that Jackson carefully planned his proposal on Mother’s Day weekend. In celebration of her graduation, he planned a getaway to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Ala. that included Bekah’s mom. After a relaxing day at the spa, Bekah said they headed to dinner, which she thought was just in celebration of her graduation.
On the way to dinner, Jackson stopped at a beautiful spot on the hotel property, got down on one knee and asked Bekah to be his wife. She said she was completely surprised! She never suspected anything before Jackson got down on one knee. Moments later, their closest family and friends joined them. Jackson had secretly invited them all to share in the celebration. It was an unforgettable moment for sure!
Iconic Downtown Locations
When the weather is nice, you can fit a lot into an engagement session. I was excited we were able to squeeze so many Mobile landmarks into Bekah and Jackson’s engagement session. We started at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception before heading to Bienville Square. Then we made our way to the History Museum (where their reception will be) and Mardi Gras Park before ending the shoot with a rooftop view.
Bekah and Jackson are such kind souls and so easy-going! I have no doubt that their wedding day is going to be a lot of fun!
