A Washington Square Park Engagement Session

When my assistant, Lauren, and my second photographer, Regina, got engaged within a few months of each other, I knew we were in for an exciting season together! Lauren, Regina and I have been working together on wedding days since 2021. I’ve lost track of how many weddings we’ve worked together. Both of these ladies can practically read my mind across a crowded ballroom. It’s so fun to now be on the other side and work with them as brides!
I was there when Aaron asked Lauren to be his wife, which was such a fun moment to document for someone I know so well! It was incredibly hard to keep that proposal plan a secret! After the proposal, we only took a few photos because Aaron and Lauren headed to dinner to celebrate. This time, we met up for a full fledged engagement session.
I love that Lauren and Aaron brought their pup, Percy, to their engagement session. He was such a star! I had previously met Percy when he was much younger, so it was fun to see him all grown up. He’s like a big stuffed animal and so friendly! After a few photos with Percy, he headed home with Lauren’s mom and we headed to downtown Mobile for the rest of their session.
We’ve done so many weddings in downtown that I expected Lauren to have requests for locations, but she let me choose so I did what I love to do the most…I followed the light! Sessions where I’m allowed to “light seek” over “location seek” are always so much fun! As a result, this session is full of dreamy light! Best of all, it wasn’t frigid cold. It seemed more like a fall session than a winter session and we definitely were happy about that!
Lauren and Aaron’s wedding will be my first for 2026! It’s so hard to believe that we are at the end of another year. I am so thankful to all my clients who made this another wonderful year. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
