A Mobile Botanical Gardens Portrait Session
I love senior portrait sessions! When I was talking with Abigail’s mom about location ideas for her senior portraits, I mentioned the Mobile Botanical Gardens (MBG). It is one of my favorite places in Mobile and is especially great for senior portrait sessions! There is so much variety in each garden, which means lots of variety for portrait backgrounds. I was excited that Abigail and her mom loved the idea and even more excited when I found out that they, like me, are also members of the gardens. If you have never been to the gardens before, it is a must visit! The spring is definitely a great time for meandering around the garden paths.
Abigail’s mom and younger sister joined us for this session. I have worked with this sweet family multiple times so it was really fun getting to catch up while also showing them my favorite spots at MBG! Abigail and her mom were excited to see the MBG chickens, which meant a pretty long walk up Magnolia Hill. Y’all, it was SO WORTH IT to walk up there!
On the way, we found a beautiful Japanese Magnolia tree with a few remaining blooms. I instantly knew it was a perfect portrait spot. The photos I took there turned out to be some of my absolute favorites. I’m still impressed that Abigail kept her heels on for most of the walk! I don’t know that my feet could have ever handled that, even back when I was her age!
By the time we made it back to the gate entrance, the light was beyond golden! I asked Abigail if she wanted to end the session with a few photos in the Longleaf forest and was so excited she said yes! This spot is such a dream at Golden Hour and I can’t think of a better way to wrap up such a beautiful and fun senior portrait session!
