A Grand Hotel Point Clear Engagement
Spring on the Gulf Coast is a fleeting season. We can jump from needing a winter coat to sporting shorts and flip flops in what seems like a blink of an eye. The hot months seem to last the majority of the year, so we truly treasure those few mild spring days that bring sunshine, low humidity and cool breezes. The day I met up with Caroline and Thomas for their engagement session at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama was a perfect spring day. The azaleas were blooming and the golden hour glow was beyond dreamy.
No matter what the season, you can almost always expect to see a spectacular sunset from Point Clear. There is just something about Mobile Bay that always shines at sunset. On this day, I could see clouds hovering just at the horizon line, so I knew we were in for perfect conditions for capturing some pretty skies right at sunset! Best of all, the hotel property wasn’t super crowded yet with spring break travelers, so we had our choice of spots along the beach for sunset photos.
A Colorado Proposal
Thomas proposed to Caroline while they were on vacation in Telluride. She said that while they passed many romantic spots on a hike earlier that day, Thomas waited until they had returned to their Air B&B to ask Caroline to be his wife. The two were enjoying drinks on the deck, which had a fantastic view of the Colorado scenery. With aspens all around and music playing in the background, Thomas asked Caroline to be his wife. Caroline said she suspected a proposal was coming soon, but when it actually happened she was completely surprised!
Caroline and Thomas chose Point Clear, Alabama for their wedding celebrations because they want a relaxed wedding day with a reverent ceremony. The proximity of St. Francis at the Point to the Grand Hotel was the perfect church/reception venue combo and with the team at Jenna Laine Weddings planning every detail, it will no doubt be a beautiful and smooth flowing wedding day.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year ago since Caroline booked her wedding with me, but we only just met in person last week and wedding day is less than 90 days away! The world of weddings truly makes the calendar seem like it’s flying by! I had a fantastic time working with these two at their engagement session and can’t wait for their wedding day this coming June!
