A Spring Hill College Engagement
Dalton had perfectly planned his proposal. Elizabeth and her sister flew to California because Dalton, who is in the Air Force, had a few days of leave. They would meet in San Fransisco and Dalton would take her to an area that overlooks the Golden Gate Bridge. There he would ask her to be his wife.Β Elizabeth told me she never suspected a thing. But the carefully planned proposal wasn’t without it’s obstacles. I loved hearing Elizabeth tell me about this day that is so special to her and Dalton. It is the sweetest story!
Dalton arrived in San Fransisco and quickly tried to get an Uber to take him to the area where he was meeting up with Elizabeth and her sister. But there were none available. He finally decided to hail a taxi. Dalton was on one side of the Golden Gate Bridge and the girls were waiting on the other side. The traffic was slow and time was ticking. Dalton was already late meeting them when the slow-moving traffic turned to gridlock. Meanwhile, the girls were waiting. And waiting. And waiting.
Dalton finally abandoned the taxi and decided to run the rest of the way across the bridge (he’s in the military after all)! As soon as he started running, the traffic began to move again. It just seemed to be one thing after another that day. When Dalton finally arrived at the meeting place, Elizabeth was ready to eat dinner. They’d been waiting for quite a while. But Dalton insisted on going on a hike to an overlook area to take a photo first. Elizabeth says she just couldn’t imagine why taking a photo in this spot was so important to Dalton. They both enjoy the outdoors and hiking, but in her mind they could do that another time. Why couldn’t they just go to dinner?
With the help of Elizabeth’s sister, Dalton talked her into hiking to the overlook area. It was going to be so worth seeing that view of the Golden Gate Bridge! They made their way to the spot and right before they were about to take the photo, Dalton got down on one knee and pulled out a ring! Elizabeth was so surprised! She later found out that Dalton had asked her parents for their blessing prior to the trip and that the whole family was in on the surprise! It is certainly a day they will never forget!
This engagement session was full of smiles and giggles. Elizabeth says that Dalton has always been able to make her laugh. I love working with couples who are so joyful that it’s contagious! I found that I couldn’t stop smiling during their session either!
