A Downtown Engagement | Mobile, AL

It was a few weeks back that I got a text from my cousin, Cassie, asking me to call her. I didn’t think anything of the text. It wasn’t out of the ordinary. We aren’t cousins that never talk to each other so I just picked up the phone and called her, not even wondering what she wanted to talk about. This is how the conversation went:

Cassie, in her low-key, soft voice said, “Hey, Will and I wanted to know if we could hire you to take some engagement pictures for us.”

Me, in my overly excitable, semi-loud voice squealed into the phone, “OH MY GOSH!!!! YOU’RE ENGAGED???!!! THAT’S SO EXCITING!!!” Then I peppered her with questions about all the details as girls do. 🙂 Of course, as a photographer, the very next thing my mind jumped to was planning an awesome engagement session.

Between my jam-packed schedule for portraits and weddings and Cassie’s and Will’s crazy school schedules (both are students at the University of South Alabama), it was tough to find a date, but we made it happen and of course we so much fun. Cassie and Will had their first date in downtown Mobile, so it was the perfect setting for their engagement session. I love shooting downtown because there are so many versatile areas for backgrounds and I love highlighting the beautiful architecture of our city. Enjoy this preview of Cassie & Will’s session!
