A Fairhope Alabama Engagement
I arrived at our meeting place a few minutes early. I could see the moss blowing in the trees, but it wasn’t until the stiff wind almost blew my door closed on me as I was getting out of the car that I realized just how strong the winds were coming off the bluffs. We started in one of my favorite spots, under the mossy oaks, but after struggling to hear each other over the howling wind, we decided to venture down some of the neighborhood streets a few blocks inland. As soon as we turned the corner down a side street, we felt immediate relief from the wind. Charley and Ethan were such troopers, totally trusting me as we made our way into streets I’d not shot in before. Let me tell you, we found some beautiful spots AND we still got some gorgeous shots along the bay. I just love the drama of the moss blowing in the trees and the golden sun painting the oak tree leaves so that they look like they’re changing color for fall.
I remember the day I met Charley at Carpe Diem, one of my favorite places to chat with brides-to-be. As she told me about Ethan, who wasn’t able to join us, her eyes sparkled. She pretty much knew he was the one for her the day they met, but what is even more special about their love story is that it wasn’t the first time their paths had crossed. As children, they knew each other, but before they were old enough to remember each other well, Ethan moved away. It wasn’t until a mutual friend told Charley, “I’ve got someone for you,” and reintroduced her to Ethan that their paths crossed again. From that moment, it was love at first sight. Isn’t that the sweetest story?!
I also love that Charley knows two of my 2017 brides, Jessica and Chelsea! All three went to Southern Miss and Chelsea was Charley’s grand big! These three girls actually remind me quite a bit of each other because they’re all classy Southern ladies who have such an eye for detail and are totally on top of all their wedding plans. Charley even Googled the sunset time for her wedding date before she met with me! I was seriously so impressed!
Charley and Ethan, thank you so much for a fabulous engagement session! I enjoyed spending the evening getting to know the two of you better and am so looking forward to being with you again on your wedding day!
Charley wore a pair of pearl earrings that belonged to her grandmother for her session. I absolutely loved incorporating these family heirlooms into some of her ring shots!
