A Dauphin Island Engagement Session
Summer disappeared in the blink of an eye and fall season has kicked into high gear! Having a break from weddings in the summer months lets me prepare for the busy fall season, where I’m doing sessions three or four days a week. I can’t share so much of what I photograph until months down the road. Currently, I’m in the throws of Christmas themed shoots. I had to remind myself this week that it is still ONLY October!
I met up with Kate and Michael at Dauphin Island for their engagement session. The two met while they were students at Auburn on a late-night run to Taco Bell with friends. As they parted ways for the evening, Michael asked Kate for her number. Shortly thereafter, the pandemic broke out and they didn’t see each other in person for quite some time. Imagine if Michael hadn’t taken the opportunity to ask Kate for her number when he did?!
When lockdown finally ended, Kate and Michael were able to reconnect in person and the rest is history! Michael proposed to Kate at sunset on the beach in Orange Beach. While the moment was a private one, he made sure that both their families were there to celebrate with them afterwards. Kate said it was the perfect moment and that Michael definitely surprised her!
The day of their engagement session we had the most perfect weather! I love sessions at Dauphin Island, especially this time of year. The fall truly is the perfect season for sessions on the beach because it’s not so crazy hot! I had to force myself to stop editing photos for this post…I just have that many favorites!
