A Spring Hill College Engagement Session

I feel like I blinked and the second half of December disappeared. Between the holidays, getting sick right at Christmas and kicking off a new year, I find myself wondering how we are already into the second week of 2024. Usually, I have my end of year recap posts up by now, but at some point I accepted that I might have to get to those later in the month than initially planned. It’s kind of like the Christmas cards that I didn’t send out. Some years things don’t go according to plan and that’s ok.

Speaking of plans, I always plan to take the first two Saturdays of the new year off of weddings, but when Mary Elizabeth’s mom called me about photographing her wedding, I knew there was no way I could miss out on capturing this special day for such long-time family friends. I was so thankful my team was game to add this date to our 2024 calendar!

Mary Elizabeth’s family and my family go way back. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same church and elementary school, and she has been in and a guest at several of my past weddings. Her grandmother was one of my favorite people I knew from Holy Family Church and her mom and I have worked weddings together! I have a feeling this wedding is going to be like a reunion!

A few days before Christmas, I met up with Mary Elizabeth and Bill at Spring Hill College for their engagement session.  We’d tried scheduling sooner, but busy work schedules made it tricky for us to find a date that worked for all of us. I was thrilled when we finally found a date that worked out. I always love this location! It was extra special for Mary Elizabeth because her dad used to work for the college. On top of that, during the session, I found out that Bill is friends with some of my friends. Talk about a small world!

It’s less than a week until wedding day for these two and I’m excited to kick off the 2024 season!
