A Sacred Heart Chapel Wedding
My team and I arrived at Lily’s family home in Fairhope excited for such perfect wedding day weather. Little did we know that everything about this day would be pure PERFECTION! From all the lovely details, to the sweetest bridal party, beautiful ceremony, gorgeous sunset, and fantastic reception…every minute was a complete joy to document.
Lily and Will have such a sweet love story that goes all the way back to their high school years. Their proposal story was one of my favorites. If you missed their proposal story, be sure to check out their engagement session post! The morning of the wedding, Will was so excited to finally marry Lily that he was dressed and ready for photos early. Don’t you just love that?!
The beautiful details and sentimental moments were so much fun to photograph. Lily pinned the garter that her mother wore for her own wedding to her bouquet, while her dad chose to use a handkerchief from Lily’s baptism for his pocket square. Another sweet moment came when I photographed the daddy-daughter first look on the front porch of their home. Lily’s dad noted that he’d rocked Lily as a baby on the front porch swing that is visible in some of the photos.
I can’t say enough about the amazing vendor team, led by Jenna Laine Weddings, that brought Lily’s wedding day dreams to life. I was also excited to get to work with Demetrious from Storylive. It has been a few years since he and I have had a chance to work together and I had forgotten how much fun we have feeding off each other’s ideas throughout the day. I met Demetrious my very first year photographing weddings and his creativity amazes me every single time we work together.
A Reception at The Venue
I have always loved weddings at The Venue in downtown Fairhope. Lily’s dad works in the landscaping world, so plants were a big part of their reception details. I LOVED that they brought in so many trees and bushes, in addition to the floral arrangements! I’m a plant person, so I especially loved that they incorporated pieris japonica, which was in full bloom, along with the trees and shrubs.
On top of the plants, the team at Wildflowers built an amazing floral chandelier over the cake table. It was a stunning focal point that captured everyone’s attention right at the entrance to the reception space.
Best of all, the party kicked off with a Second Line, which is always a great way to get the dance floor filled early in the evening. This festive vibe continued throughout the night and, before we knew it, we were lining up for the grand exit. Cheers to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Kushner!
