A History Museum Wedding

I have worked with Sarah’s sweet family multiple times. I first met her mom on a Mobile Bay Magazine shoot years ago and then photographed her twin sister’s wedding in January 2022. Being with them for another wedding day was such a JOY!

Growing up, I always wondered what it must be like to have a twin sister. Sarah and her twin sister, Grace, have such a special bond and I felt so blessed to get to document both of their wedding days. This wedding day was full of sentimental details. Sarah and Grace’s mom, Rosemary, is the best gift-giver. I knew she would have something special to give Sarah on her wedding day. When I was photographing the details, Rosemary brought a glass box with pressed flowers to me and said Sarah hadn’t seen it yet. I love that I was able to include this beautiful gift in some of the detail photos.

I love that Sarah chose a yellow and green color palette for her day. It felt so fresh and cheerful, as a spring wedding should feel! Best of all, she let her bridesmaids choose their own dresses and they were a mix of printed fabrics and solids. I LOVED this mix of shades of green and yellow in both printed and solid fabrics! The choice of yellow reminded me of my parents’ wedding photos, as my mom chose daisies for her wedding flower back when she and my dad were married in 1979.

The History Museum is one of my favorite wedding venues. Fortunately, the rain that was in the forecast moved out of our area the morning of the wedding and everything was mostly dry by the time we headed outside for portraits. The perfectly overcast day meant we could shoot in Mardi Gras Park in the middle of the afternoon – talk about a photographer’s dream! Cheers to the newly Mr. & Mrs. Linschoten!
