A Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Wedding

March is one of my favorite months of the year! There is something about the season in between winter and summer that I look forward to every year. Maybe it’s because March is my birthday month, or maybe it’s because I love all the flowers that bloom this time of year, or maybe it’s the color palette of a spring season wedding – or all of the above!

I had the best time with Anna and Ben at their engagement session. I could hardly believe eight months flew by from the time we took those photos to this day. It seemed to pass in the blink of an eye! This day brought me back to one of my favorite churches in Mobile, the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Cathedral for a wedding and I was so happy to be back. I always think of my own family members’ weddings when I’m at the Cathedral. It holds a sentimental place in my heart for sure!

After the ceremony, a Second Line led the bridal party and guests down Dauphin Street for a few blocks before we all hopped on the trolley and headed to the reception. I’ve photographed a Second Line many times, but this was was extra jubilant because everyone on Dauphin Street stopped to cheer as we passed by. It doesn’t get more Mobile than this y’all! Anna and Ben were married on Anna’s mom’s birthday. I LOVED that they surprised her with a special dance at the beginning of the reception. Anna’s entire immediate family joined in. It was such a special moment and so full of JOY!
