A Grand Hotel Point Clear Engagement
Growing up, we always hung out with our cousins. Living in the same town as many of them has always been such a huge blessing. Allyson was part of the cousin crew who were my first portrait subjects when I took photography in college. During her first years of teaching after college, she worked with me on Saturdays as my wedding day assistant. We had so much fun working together. It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years ago this summer that we worked our last wedding day together.
Over the past few years I’ve enjoyed getting to know both John and his two sons. They already feel like family, but this December it will become official! I was so excited when John told me he was going to propose to Allyson. Initially, he asked me to photograph the proposal, which made me BEYOND nervous because I couldn’t fathom how I could capture the moment without Allyson spotting me and getting suspicious.
In the end, John decided he wanted the proposal to happen whenever the moment felt right and not at a pre-planned location. I think it was the best decision ever because he 100 percent surprised Allyson! Since I was not there to photograph the proposal, we decided to return to the location of the proposal for Allyson and John’s engagement session. We lucked out with the most beautiful weather and a gorgeous sunset to boot! Enjoy my favorites from their summer sunset session!
