A Spring Hill College Autumn Engagement
The time of year has finally arrived when I don’t have to pack an ice chest of water before heading out to photograph an engagement session! Yay for cooler temperatures! I’m also saying a prayer that we’re finished with hurricanes for the year. I think 2020 has already been crazy enough, right?!
Katie and Casey drove over from Louisiana to do their engagement portraits at Spring Hill College. We started their session at St. Joseph’s Chapel, which is where these two will become husband and wife in the spring. Both Katie’s parents and grandparents were married at this chapel on the Spring Hill College campus. I love that Katie and Casey are continuing the tradition for another generation. Talk about a legacy for their family!
I could tell right off the bat that Katie and Casey are sentimental people. Then I found out that they had not one, but two heirlooms with them on their shoot. Katie’s engagement ring was designed by Casey and incorporates a diamond from a set of his mother’s earrings. I love unique stories like this!
I also love that Casey chose to wear a blazer that once belonged to Katie’s grandfather (the same one who was also married at St. Joseph’s) for some of the portraits. Little details like these are what I love about engagement sessions! They make the portraits even more personalized and special for both the couple and their families. I can’t wait to see what sentimental elements they incorporate into their wedding day!
