A Spring Hill Presbyterian Wedding
There is nothing quite like witnessing a bride, who had a clear vision for her wedding day in her mind, see that vision unfold in front of her eyes. Kelly is such a joyful person and her smile is definitely one that can light up a room. As each moment of this day unfolded, I just loved watching her soak in the fact that her dream wedding was actually happening.
From the minute she put on her wedding gown, the tears started to flow. I think that was the moment that she realized all the carefully planned details were finally coming together! I loved watching her gasp each time she saw something new – from the flowers to the cake, every detail took her breath away!
Spring Hill Presbyterian is Joey’s family’s church and it was very important to both him and Kelly to have their ceremony there. I love that we also did their First Look and almost all their portraits at this location. The property at the church is so beautiful and we were blessed with the most gorgeous weather on this spring day!
A Mobile Carnival Museum Reception
At their engagement session, Kelly told me she wanted their reception to feel like a giant street party during Mardi Gras. To truly get all the Mardi Gras vibes, they chose the Mobile Carnival Museum for their reception. I was so happy for these two that they had perfect weather the day of their wedding. The dance floor was full from the beginning to the end of the reception, which is exactly what Kelly and Joey were hoping for!
Midway through the reception, Kelly, Joey and I stepped away from the tent for a few quick portraits. Kelly told me someone had given her the great advice of taking time to step away from the reception a bit to view it from the distance. I thought that was fantastic advice! As we stood there looking at the tent from Spanish Plaza, Kelly marveled at how everything turned out exactly as she hoped it would. It truly was a perfect day from beginning to end!
I loved this portrait that my second photographer, Alexis, took of Kelly. Kelly called it her “Kate Middleton” moment and I just loved that!
