An Autumnal Family Wedding
It was freezing cold the day of Tanner and Allie’s engagement session. Tanner said it was better than sweating, but we all agreed we needed to pray the wedding day wouldn’t be quite that cold. A few days before the wedding, the weather forecast predicted an 80 percent chance of rain. Fortunately, the rain moved out of the area the night before and we were left with a perfectly autumnal day!
Tanner is the baby of my first cousins on my mom’s side. I vividly remember sitting in the waiting room at the hospital along with many other family members while my aunt was giving birth to him. From the minute he came into the world, you could tell Tanner had a big heart. Seeing him hold back tears as his lovely bride, Allie, walked down the aisle had me holding back tears behind my camera. Our little “Tan – Man” (as Gramps used to say) is all grown up!
Creating the Venue
To say this was a perfect wedding day feels like an understatement. When Tanner and Allie told me they wanted to get married on family land, I knew it would be so special. Allie shared her vision for the day with me and I was so excited to see it brought to life! I also knew it would be a lot of work!
With the help of family members and friends, Tanner and Allie worked on all the details. Everything came together so beautifully that many guests arrived thinking their property was actually a wedding venue! I have taken many photos on this land over the years. It was such a treat to photograph a wedding day in a place I know so well!
I could go on and on about how wonderful this day was, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. It was truly a joy to capture this day along with my team! Tanner and Allie, I could not be happier for the two of you. May you be blessed with many happy years together!
It’s a good thing Regina was the one to photograph Tanner giving my Uncle Stan custom cufflinks featuring a photo of Gramps. I know I would have lost it!
If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember Tanner’s sister, Cassie, and her husband, Will, from past posts. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly six years since their wedding day! Their two adorable children served as the flower girl and ring bearer for Allie and Tanner’s day.
