A St. Mary’s Catholic Church Wedding

Spring wedding season has officially begun! After intentionally scheduling a break from weddings for the first two months of the year, I was excited to be reunited with my wedding day team for Rebecca and Peyton’s wedding. This was a classic Mobile wedding, which included some of my favorite locations.

I always love photographing weddings at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. It’s located in the heart of midtown, which is in perfect proximity to many of the hotels downtown. Since Rebecca and Peyton shared a First Look ahead of their ceremony, it meant we were able to take portraits both downtown and at the church. I love that it gave us such a variety for their gallery!

While we were looking for portrait spots downtown, I noticed a beautiful spot in perfect light that I’d never used before. Just as I said we’d pause for portraits there, Rebecca commented that she had been thinking the exterior of the building was pretty. I loved that she could see my vision for photos in that spot before we even took them!

After their Nuptial Mass at St. Mary’s, we headed to Corpus Christi Catholic Church for the reception. The Banquet Hall at Corpus Christi is ideal for a large reception where you need plenty of space for eating and dancing. Corpus Christi also happens to be my parish, so photographing weddings there puts me on my “home turf” so to speak. However, this was my first reception there were additional lighting was added. It truly helped to transform the space!
