St. Ignatius + Spring Hill College Engagement Session

I actually cannot recall the first time I met KirbyAnne. At this point, our paths have crossed so many times that it seems I’ve known her forever. She and her group of friends have been at so many of my weddings. Some of her closest friends are some of my sweetest brides of all time and I have absolutely LOVED working with her circle of friends on their wedding days!
Every time I’d see KirbyAnne at a wedding, I’d tell her I’d hope I could photograph her wedding one day because I just knew we would have so much fun working together. And this was back before KirbyAnne was dating Chris! I will never forget the day KirbyAnne texted me that she was engaged. I was so very excited for her!
I was so glad that I had KirbyAnne’s preferred wedding date open on my calendar. I just could not imagine missing out on documenting her special day! Fun fact, way back in the day, when I first started photographing events, I met KirbyAnne’s mom through the Called to Love Catholic Women’s Conferences. I remember attending a meeting where we were all praying for two of her sons who were in seminary. Now, all these years later, those two sons are priests and will concelebrate the Nuptial Mass for their sister’s wedding. How amazing is that?!
A Spring Engagement Session
Last week, I met up with KirbyAnne and Chris while they were in town. We started their engagement session at KirbyAnne’s parents’ home. Then we stopped by St. Ignatius church, where their wedding will be held this fall. Finally, we wrapped things up at Spring Hill College. KirbyAnne and Chris both love the iconic oak trees that line the Avenue of the Oaks.
Even though this was my first time meeting Chris in person, I felt like I’d known him as equally as long as KirbyAnne. The three of us just had so much fun chatting between portrait spots. Best of all, the weather was perfect – not too hot and not too cold – and the azaleas were starting to bloom! I have no doubt that wedding day with these two will be an absolute DREAM!
