A Bienville Square Engagement Session

Golden Hour in Bienville Square just might be my new favorite combo! The light was absolutely stunning. I have chatted with Kathryn on the phone and her best friend has been part of my wedding day team in the past. As she and Jeff walked towards me from across this square, which is located in the heart of downtown Mobile, I knew we were in for an amazing session. The light was already sparkling!
I could immediately tell these two are completely in sync. Conversation with them was easy. The weather was a little humid, but on this day it wasn’t unbearable. We scheduled this session around Kathryn and Jeff making a trip to Mobile to check several things off their wedding planning to-do list. When I first talked to Kathryn on the phone for her consultation, I learned that she used to work at The Battle House Hotel and was so excited to incorporate this location, which is also her reception venue, into their engagement session.
A Homecoming
The hotel was the perfect reprieve from the heat midway through the session. Kathryn ran into one former co-worker after another as we walked through the hotel. Everyone was so excited to see her, which was the sweetest thing. I loved that we were able to incorporate so many of Kathryn’s favorite spots into this session. We decided to save the rooftop for their wedding day though, which I think will be so special!
As we exited the hotel, I paused at a favorite spot of mine on the side of the building for a few portraits. Kathryn exclaimed, “this is where I used to sit and talk to Jeff while on my breaks!” I absolutely love little details like that and it turned what I thought of as just a pretty photo spot into an extra meaningful portrait location.
Kathryn and Jeff’s wedding is just around the corner. After such an enjoyable engagement session, I know wedding day with these two is going to be such a dream!
