A Rustic Southern Wedding | Silverhill, AL

This has been one crazy year. To think that this time last year I thought wedding photography wasn’t for me now seems pretty silly. I absolutely LOVE weddings and photographing them is such fun. Last week I talked about how I’ve been working with Jennie Tewell Photography as an associate wedding photographer. Working as an associate gives me the flexibility to work with more clients because when I shoot as an associate I don’t do the photo editing and order delivery. My work is done after the shooting is completed and I can focus on the next wedding on my calendar, all my Fleeting Moments bookings and editorial assignments.

I honestly never considered doing a wedding totally on my own, but when my dear friend Danielle sent me a message saying she was engaged and that she wanted me to photograph her wedding, I knew I had to do it and I knew it would be a Fleeting Moments wedding. Danielle was literally the first new friend I made on the first day of high school. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever known. We unfortunately lost touch after high school and hadn’t seen or even talked to each other since graduation (if memory serves me correctly), but when we got together for dinner before her big day it was like no time had passed.

Danielle and her equally sweet fiance, Michael, planned a rustic, outdoor wedding on Danielle’s family’s property. The ceremony was held outside after dark. Now, I admit, darkness is sort of the enemy of photographers because you need light to create a photograph, but I was excited for the challenge. Once the sun had set, the scene really came to life and, let me tell you, it was MAGICAL! Surrounded by her two adorable children, Danielle and Michael said their vows under a canopy of majestic oak trees, which had been wrapped with white lights.  I felt so honored to be there to witness and capture such beautiful fleeting moments for them. Here is a mega over share of my favorites from their day. Enjoy!
