Spring Hill College Portrait Session
I am primarily a Alabama wedding and editorial photographer, but I started out my photography career photographing little ones. I thought I would never photograph a wedding back in those days. One of my favorite things about photographing families are the personalities of the children. I love how expressive they are and I love their curiosity. My very first clients were parents who wanted their children’s childhood preserved. Some of those first clients hired me year after year and it was a joy to see these families grow.
When I started photographing weddings and editorial/commercial work, it started getting hard to find room on the calendar for family sessions. There are only a limited number of weekends in any given month and so my family sessions gradually became few and far between. When I received an email last fall from a former classmate, Lauren, asking about availability for a portrait session for her daughter, I was so thankful that she was contacting me well in advance of the holidays when I still had room on my calendar.
It was so fun to catch up with Lauren during this session and to meet her adorable baby girl, Sophia. Lauren and I hadn’t seen each other since high school! It’s a little scary to think that has been 15 years ago! But, at the same time, it seemed like yesterday. Lauren was still the same sweet friend from our McGill days and we even ran into another of our high school classmates during the shoot, which was also fun! That’s just Mobile for ya. We’re like a big small town, where everyone either knows everyone, or is somehow connected to everyone.
