An Orange Beach AL Wedding

It’s been almost a whole year since I met C.C. and Ross for their engagement session! Their wedding officially kicked off fall wedding season for me and even though it is still quite warm, I finally felt like the humidity wasn’t as bad. When I pulled up to the venue and saw pumpkins, I was like, “y’all fall is here!” Who cares if our high temps are still in the 80s. Give me pumpkins and I will be in the fall spirit! When I walked into the getting ready room, the first thing I heard was Disney music and I knew that it was going to be a fun day. I think that photographing details while listening to some Disney classics in the background should be a new wedding day tradition!

C.C. and Ross met in high school, but didn’t date until they were in college at Auburn University. Auburn is where they fell in love and they celebrated on wedding day in true collegiate style! The color palette of the day was nod to their love for the Auburn Tigers (hence the orange pumpkins) and their sweet puppy, Nova (named after the Auburn University eagle), was part of their wedding party! Ross and his groomsmen wore navy suits, accented with orange ties and boutonnieres. And, of course, they had the cutest Auburn themed groom’s cake that I’ve ever seen! It was all so perfect for fall and so perfect for C.C. and Ross!

This wedding marked my first time to shoot at Heron Pointe at The Wharf. I’ve seen photographs of this venue before, but hadn’t ever been to the property. Let me just say, it is one beautiful spot! C.C. perfectly timed her ceremony with sunset and we had the most gorgeous afternoon glow for both their ceremony and portraits. The beautiful house, framed by majestic oak trees, was such an ideal spot for an outdoor fall wedding. Best of all, we had just enough light after the ceremony to take some golden hour sunset portraits at The Wharf!

I ran into these two special guests who happen to be friends with my cousin, Brittany (who doesn’t even live in the Mobile area)! How fun is that?! Alex is C.C.’s cousin and his dad was the officiate for the ceremony. Talk about a small world!!! I was so glad when they introduced themselves at the reception. It was thanks to a tag on Facebook that they put two and two together by seeing the Gelineau name. I set my camera aside for a quick minute to get in a photo with these two. I just love small-world moments like this!
