A Kalioka Stables Mobile Alabama Wedding
The first time I met Elizabeth, I was immediately struck by her bubbly personality. When I say she is full of smiles, I mean it! This girl just radiates happiness. Throughout the wedding day, I never saw her stressed one time. She was so full of joy and so relaxed. Dalton is a bit more reserved, but after knowing him for even just a short time, I can tell he has a big heart. Before the ceremony, he and Elizabeth exchanged letters during their First Look. I love that Dalton wrote on the outside of his – “For Elizabeth’s Eyes Only” in addition to her name. I know those are two letters that will be cherished for many years to come!
It’s hard to believe it has been a little over a year since I’ve been to Kalioka Stables. If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember that my cousin, Cassie, got married at this same venue! The sweet family that own this property are such joy to work with and take care of everyone so well. The barn at Kalioka is a lovely setting for a reception, but the weather was so beautiful the day of this wedding that almost everyone made their way outside after dinner to enjoy the golden hour. I was so excited that we got to take advantage of all the golden light with some “Just Married” portraits of Elizabeth and Dalton! Y’all, it was soooo dreamy!!!
I adored working with Elizabeth and Dalton and their families. I can tell they’re all so close and so happy these two found each other. Elizabeth’s mom kept saying that as long as Elizabeth was happy, she was happy. Isn’t that the sweetest?! As a mom of two sons, Dalton’s mom was so excited to gain another daughter. I love that the whole day everyone seemed like they were part of one big family.
One of my favorite moments from the wedding day happened during the first dance. I noticed that both Elizabeth’s and Dalton’s parents were sitting at a table near the dance floor. I motioned for them to stand closer so that they would have a better view and so that they would be in the photos I took of the moment. Watching their parents watch that first dance nearly brought tears to my eyes. They were just beaming with happiness!
Elizabeth and Dalton, congratulations and thank you so much for having me be part of your special day! It was lovely!
Dalton’s niece was their flower girl and she was a doll!
A few azaleas were still in bloom!
Y’all, this moment just makes my heart happy! Just look at their parents watching the first dance! Elizabeth and Dalton chose “Today” – one of my favorite Brad Paisley songs – for their first dance! I love country music and Brad Paisley is one of my favorite singers (along with Alan Jackson and George Strait). The tears were starting to puddle in my eyes!
This light is my favorite!!! I’m so glad Elizabeth asked for Golden Hour portraits in her timeline!
We had a double bouquet toss…because the first one was a tie!
I looked back as we were leaving and there was still a tiny bit of light remaining.
Such a peaceful scene!
