A Downtown Engagement | Mobile, AL
One thing that I really love about being a wedding photographer is getting to know my clients ahead of the wedding day. I have such fun at engagement sessions because it’s when the real personalities really come out and my couples start feeling like old friends. When Hurricane Irma caused me to cancel my vacation to Savannah, I was pretty bummed. I’d been looking forward to spending a few days exploring one of my favorite cities in the south with my cousin and one of my best friends. As our departure day drew near and Savannah ended up under a mandatory evacuation order, I knew our trip was not going to happen. The day after we decided to cancel, I got an email from Hannah with some dates for scheduling her engagement session. She threw out Sept. 10th as one of the options and since I was no longer going to be traveling, I said lets do it!
Hannah and Trey are just one of those couples that are so at ease with one another and immediately so comfortable in front of the camera that you forget you haven’t known them forever. Hannah also has a great laugh and I love when brides are not bashful about letting their joy shine! This session was full of laughter and I couldn’t have loved it more. We started out at a park and then made our way to downtown Mobile. I originally planned to shoot in a different area, but the blue of Hannah’s dress made me stop outside the Mobile History Museum and, oh my goodness, I am so in love with that white wall after this session! I am also in awe of how beautiful the new Mardi Gras Park is across the street from the museum. I’ve driven by this area many times, but hadn’t shot there before. It is so lovely and such a wonderful addition to our city!
Hannah and Trey, thank you so much for such a fun session! I know your wedding day is going to be just as joyful!
