A St. Mary’s Catholic Church Wedding
I knew Lauren and Vincent were going to be a laid back bride and groom. These two were so chill at their engagement session! Seriously, if there’s one bit of advice I’d give to every couple, it would be don’t sweat the small stuff…especially on wedding day. Lauren and Vincent are the perfect example of going with the flow and just enjoying the time spent with family and friends.
I love that they took time to write letters to each other to read ahead of their First Look. A wedding day is by nature a busy day because there is a lot going on. I think it’s so nice to take a pause and just soak in the moment. Lauren was reading her letter when I arrived at the getting ready location. Vincent had advised her to read it before she had her makeup done. And that proved to be good advice!
Vincent read his letter right before Lauren came out for their First Look. It was such a sweet moment! While I love fine papers and stationery, it made me smile seeing the letters Lauren and Vincent exchanged written on simple paper. It reminded me of the letters that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother back in the 1950s. It’s what the letter says that matters, not the paper it’s written on.
An Azalea Manor Reception
Speaking of grandparents, Vincent’s grandparents have been married for 60 years! They are an amazing example of marriage standing the test of time. One of my favorite moments from the wedding day happened at the reception when Vincent and Lauren were dancing alongside his grandparents. I just imagined Lauren and Vincent doing the same 50 or so years down the road!
This was my first wedding that felt like fall. I was LOVING the cooler temperatures and being outside for the reception at Azalea Manor. I love that this venue has both an indoor and outdoor space. It was such a beautiful night for dancing under the stars!
This wedding also marked my first time back at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in over a year! This beautiful church is one of my favorites in Mobile, so it’s crazy to realize how long it’s been since my last wedding there. It was the perfect setting for Lauren and Vincent’s ceremony. Enjoy my favorites from their special day!
I don’t always edit sibling portraits for the blog, but I definitely take them during a typical wedding day. Family portraits are an important part of every wedding day and I love when we’re able to take them pre-ceremony so that family can enjoy going straight to the reception after the wedding.
I love these secondary angle shots that my assistant, Megan, took during the ceremony. She was able to take photos from the side aisle during the vows, while I stayed at the center.
Lauren and Vincent dancing alongside Vincent’s grandparents – one of my favorite moments from the day!
