A St. Francis at the Point Wedding
Grace and Connor are two of the kindest people you could ever meet. Their love story is one of the sweetest I’ve ever heard and their engagement session is definitely on my list of all-time favorite shoots! I knew wedding day with these two was going to be a dream and it was!
I always watch the weather closely, but especially during wedding weeks. When I saw there was almost a one hundred percent chance of rain for Grace and Connor’s wedding day, I was not worried for a second. We had two venues that provided covered portrait locations. Plus, I knew that Grace and Connor would be full of joy no matter what. After postponing from their original date due to covid, they were just excited to get married!
Just before Grace put on her gown, she mentioned how she’d looked forward to wearing it for so long. Her bridesmaids reaction to seeing her in the gown for the first time perfectly summed up the excitement of everyone! I’m sure the guys could hear their screams on the other side of the venue. It was one of my favorite moments of the day.
I loved that Grace and Connor were so chill about the weather. Because they were so go-with-the-flow, we were still able to get some outdoor portraits on a day that was mostly wet! I’m still in awe that the rain paused at just the right times! I like to think that was God’s blessing for this sweet couple. On top of that, Grace and Connor had the most awesome bridal party and family, who were equally as laid back about shifting a few plans due to rain.
A Little Point Clear Reception
After a beautiful ceremony at St. Francis at the Point, everyone headed to Little Point Clear for dinner and dancing! It was so much fun getting to see several friends, as well as some of my past year couples, at this reception! Grace and Connor are certainly loved dearly by all who came to celebrate with them!
As the night came to a close, we started to prepare for the grand exit. Grace and Connor told me beforehand that they bought Lightsabers for their exit. I was SO excited because this was something unique! I knew it was going to be both fun and tricky to photograph. Their videographer, Jana, and I discussed the plan and tested our shots before the actual exit. Thanks to the most amazing group of guests you could ever imagine, this was one of the most fun exits I’ve ever photographed. Usually when it comes to an exit shot, I’m hoping for one or two keepers, but this exit was so much fun that I ended up with a whole series of favorites! Picking just a few to share here was hard!
Cheers to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Sharpton! May God bless your marriage with many years of happiness together!
Grace’s gift to her dad was a print showing the words to their daddy-daughter dance song in the shape of a vintage record, which was perfect for her dad who is a record album collector.
These two are just so much fun to photograph!
I loved seeing two of my prior year couples – Sally and Travis and Maggie and Edward – at Grace and Connor’s wedding!
BEST. EXIT. EVER!!!
