A St. Joseph Chapel Engagement
The best part of the engagement session experience is getting to meet the couples I’ll be working with on a wedding day. Prior to the engagement session, I’ve often only spoken to the bride-to-be on the phone. At Lauren and Brandon’s session, I learned that Brandon knows my brother-in-law’s family! Then I found out that Lauren knows several of my other brides and that she, Brandon and I are members of the same church. If that’s not an old-fashioned Mobile story for you, I don’t know what is! I can’t imagine living in a city so big where everyone isn’t somehow connected. It’s one of my favorite things about Mobile and it definitely makes for fun conversation on engagement sessions.
Lauren and Brandon brought their adorable dogs with them to their session. They were seriously excited to be out and about at Spring Hill College where we did this session! Thankfully, Lauren’s mom came along to help out with getting the dogs to look toward the camera. I was amazed when they sat down and posed so well even with the distraction of a few students walking by!
The day of this session was pretty quiet on campus, which was awesome. It meant we had some of my favorite spots mostly to ourselves. Plus, we didn’t have to wait too long for a car free road on the Avenue of the Oaks. This is one location that everyone loves, but it definitely takes patience to take portraits there. I always let my clients know that it might take multiple attempts before we are able to get that middle of the road portrait. Luckily, on this day, we didn’t have to wait long! This meant we were able to squeeze in a stop by Byrne Hall for a few portraits there as well.
