A St. Joseph Chapel Wedding

I kicked off fall wedding season at one of my favorite churches in Mobile, St. Joseph Chapel. I never tire of weddings at Spring Hill College – the campus is beautiful year round and there are so many great spots for portraits! The biggest challenge is getting to all of them within a reasonable amount of time on a wedding day! Thanks to a golf cart and a trolley, we were able to visit various spots during portrait time for Sarah and Dan’s wedding.

We had the most perfect October weather for this day! It was a picture perfect dream! Zero humidity, not too hot or too cold. It was the type of day that every bride dreams of for her wedding! In fact, it was such a beautiful day that the campus was extra crowded with people taking pictures, but thanks to an amazing bridal party who were game for switching up plans last minute, we were able to pull off a few portraits on the gorgeous Avenue of the Oaks even when it seemed like it was going to be impossible. I owe a major shoutout to the bridesmaids for this wedding because they are the reason we were able to shift plans and make it happen!

Sentimental Details

When Sarah was a little girl, her grandfather was the social director at Spring Hill College. This meant that he was part of many wedding days on campus. Sarah said that he always had a specific type of champagne for couples to toast with at the receptions held at Stewartfield house. I love that Sarah made sure to have that same champagne at her own reception. This little detail was a tribute to her much loved grandfather. Sarah also displayed her grandmother’s wedding gown at the reception and carried her grandmother’s rosary in her bridal bouquet, along with one of her grandfather’s handkerchiefs. To say I loved all these vintage and sentimental details is an understatement! Enjoy some of my favorites from this beautiful fall wedding!

Loved this photo that Regina, my second photographer, took while I was taking photos from the opposite side of the room!
