Behind the Scenes 2021

I’m ready to kick off a new year of weddings, but before I pack my bags for the first wedding of 2022, I want to share some of my favorite behind the scenes moments from the last year. I have an awesome team of ladies that help me serve clients well on wedding days! For most weddings, I had the dynamic duo of Alexis and Regina, or Regina and Lauren working with me. These ladies are dedicated, hard working, and have a heart for service. I’m so thankful to them for working with me so much throughout 2021! My dear friends, Toni Goodie and Debby Cullum, who run their own successful photography businesses, also joined me on a few weddings this year. We always have fun working together!

On wedding days, we strive hard to keep things flowing smoothly so that our couples enjoy their day. This includes so much more than taking good photos. For example, we spend a lot of time protecting and fluffing the dress…

We also provide fanning services when needed and make sure the veil looks just right.

Veil tosses are our specialty…and we LOVE the results of a good veil toss in the final photograph!

We are pros at taking “light test” photos…

We can read each others minds…in the photo below, Debby is saying “that light on the wall behind you is terrible!” Thank goodness a cloud came in and fixed that in time for the daddy/daughter First Look!

We love all the pretty details, Golden Hour portraits with the bride and groom, and joyful bridal parties!

We also love a good dance party…even if that means we can’t hear each other by the end of the night!

We loved getting to work with so many of our favorite wedding planners last year and wish we had photos of every single one!

We also loved meeting so many new videographers and seeing some of our longtime favorites!

We love wedding days so much…even when our feet and knees hurt at the end of the day!

Regina, Lauren and Kelly were my assistants for the year. They are ROCKSTARS! They help keep me on schedule, manage family portrait request lists, back up memory cards, fluff dresses, and whatever else I need them to do throughout a wedding day. They also remind me to stay hydrated!

Regina and Alexis were my main second photographers for 2021! I loved seeing Regina make the leap from assisting to second shooting. She has worked so hard on this for the past year and it has been a joy to see her enjoying her time behind the camera!

Alexis moved overseas midway through the year, but she is headed back stateside soon! I’ve been following her adventures in India and can’t wait to hear all the stories I know she’ll return with! I also look forward to having her second shoot with me again this year!

These two are a dynamic duo and the best of friends! No, they’re not sisters, but they look like they could be!

Lauren joined the team when Alexis moved away and she fit right in from day one! I love her positive energy and organizational skills!
