A Downtown Fairhope + Little Point Clear Engagement
Hyland and Bob are such a sweet and easy-going couple! I met up with them in downtown Fairhope for their engagement session. We did half their session in town and at the Fairhope Pier before heading down Scenic 98 to Little Point Clear, where their wedding will be next year. Bob had never seen the venue in person before, so it was fun that their engagement session also served as a tour of the venue where they’ll be married.
I found out on the session that Hyland has been in a lot of weddings. She told me that helped her know exactly what she wanted for her own wedding day. When it was time to plan, she knew what her priorities were for her day and quickly jumped into planning.
Hyland said the way Bob proposed was exactly how she imagined it would be…but even better! He’d been planning various events over several months, trying to distract her enough so she wouldn’t figure out the surprise. His plan worked perfectly! They had a big trip planned and Hyland was certain it would be when Bob proposed. Instead, Bob surprised Hyland on a date night. After he’d taken her to a Nashville Predators game and the two had enjoyed dessert at one of their favorite places, they headed back to Bob’s to watch tv.
When Hyland was least expecting it, Bob surprised her with flowers and a ring. She’d had a stressful day at work that day, so she initially thought the flowers were to lift her spirits after a long work day. Then, to her surprise, she saw the ring! Hyland said she was so overjoyed that she immediately burst into tears. What I love most about this story is that Hyland said it reminded her that no matter what the day holds that she and Bob have each other to lean on. Such a beautiful reminder, right?!
